Art Connecting to the Kimberley

Ever since the day in 1999 when Andrew and I first came to Broome in the Kimberley region of north-west Australia its unique spirit has excited and intrigued me. Now, 22 years later, this small isolated town’s natural beauty and its dramatic variations in light, colour, pindan soil, the lovely beaches and endless blue skies still make me gasp with wonder and delight in the spirit of the Kimberley.

I hope you enjoy viewing my take on this fabulous part of the world.

Kimberley Characters

The diverse array of humans, animals and birds provide a rich tapestry for me to work with.

Heavenly Broome

We shouldn't be afraid to embrace whimsy, that nagging idea that life could be magical; it could be special if we were only willing to take a few risks.

Creative Forces

The forces that originally produced the beautiful Kimberley have inspired me to use my imagination to create my own images of a magical land.

"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web"

"Painting is just another way of keeping a Diary"

Pablo Picasso, 1881 - 1973

"When I want to draw a camel I no longer limit myself, as I once did, to looking only at camels"

Jean Dubuffet, 1901 – 1985
